What began as a self-declared diplomatic triumph quickly spiraled into chaos—and Donald Trump is not taking it quietly.

Just hours after announcing a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” between Israel and Iran, the President emerged visibly enraged, blaming both sides for violating the deal—but reserving his sharpest criticism for Israel. “When I say, ‘OK, now you have 12 hours,’ you don’t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them,” Trump fumed to reporters before boarding Marine One. “I’m not happy with them. I’m not happy with Iran, but I’m really unhappy if Israel’s going out this morning because of one rocket that didn’t even land”.
The ceasefire, which Trump dubbed the end of “The 12 Day War,” was brokered after a dramatic escalation involving U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites and retaliatory missile fire on a U.S. base in Qatar. Trump had taken to Truth Social in a flurry of late-night posts, praising both nations for their “Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence” and predicting a future of “LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY”.
But by morning, Israeli jets were back in the skies and Iranian missiles were once again lighting up radar screens. Trump’s tone shifted from jubilant to furious. “You know, we basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing,” he snapped.
Despite the breakdown, Trump insisted the ceasefire was real and that both sides had agreed to it. He blamed “bad actors” and “overreactions” for the collapse, while still clinging to the idea that peace was possible—if only they’d listened to him.
As missiles fly and diplomacy burns, Trump’s brief moment as peacemaker has turned into a political firestorm. Whether this was a bold attempt at statesmanship or a premature victory lap gone wrong, one thing is clear: the ceasefire may be dead, but Trump’s voice is louder than ever.
