In a surprising turn of events, billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk has publicly apologized to President Donald Trump after a week-long feud that saw Musk launch a series of scathing attacks against the president. The apology, posted in the early hours of June 11 on Musk’s social media platform X, read: “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”

The feud began when Musk criticized Trump’s landmark spending bill, calling it a “disgusting abomination” and accusing the president of burying the Jeffrey Epstein files to avoid incriminating himself. Musk’s comments sparked outrage among Trump’s supporters and led to speculation about the future of their relationship.
Despite Musk’s attempt to walk back his remarks, sources close to Trump suggest that the damage may be irreversible. “Trump doesn’t forget,” one insider reportedly said, adding that while the president acknowledged Musk’s apology, their relationship had shifted from “love to transactional to now pure avoidance.”
Trump himself responded to Musk’s apology with a mix of diplomacy and veiled skepticism. In a podcast interview recorded on June 10, he stated, “I have no hard feelings… I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.” However, during a separate event on June 12, Trump hinted at lingering tensions, saying, “Elon doesn’t like me,” before laughing it off.
While Musk’s apology may signal an attempt to mend fences, political analysts believe that the fallout from this feud could have lasting implications. With Musk’s influence in the tech and business world and Trump’s dominance in the political sphere, their strained relationship could shape future policy decisions and business dealings.
Whether this marks the end of their alliance or simply a temporary setback remains to be seen. But one thing is clear—when it comes to Trump, apologies don’t always guarantee forgiveness.
